Taylor's design philosophy is centered around creating the unexpected, with every decision driven by intent and meaning. She is deeply influenced by mid-century modern style, which she embraces for its timeless simplicity, functional elegance, and seamless integration of form and function. She’s drawn to the era’s clean lines, organic shapes, and a careful balance of natural materials. Utilizing different wood tones, she creates depth and warmth that contrasts yet complements the bold, vibrant colors and graphic patterns typical of mid-century design.
Taylor has a deep admiration for architect Louis Kahn, whom she considers a "master manipulator of natural light," and draws inspiration from his work in her own design approach.
Growing up in Buffalo, NY, Taylor developed her love for design early on. With three degrees in Interior Design, Architecture, and Business from SUNY Alfred State College, she applies a multidisciplinary approach to her work, fulfilling both the functional and aesthetic needs of her clients. Before co-founding House of Hive, Taylor held several lead designer roles across residential, commercial, and educational design markets.
