Taylor's design philosophy is centered around creating the unexpected, with every decision driven by intent and meaning.
She is deeply influenced by mid-century modern style, which she embraces for its timeless simplicity, elegance, and seamless integration of form and function. She’s drawn to the era’s clean lines, organic shapes, and a careful balance of natural materials.
Taylor has a deep admiration for architect Louis Kahn, whom she considers a "master manipulator of natural light," and draws inspiration from his work in her own design approach.
With three degrees in Interior Design, Architecture, and Business from SUNY Alfred State College, she applies a multidisciplinary approach to her work. Before co-founding House of Hive, Taylor held several lead designer roles across residential, commercial, and educational design markets. With her background knowledge in high-end luxury remodels, project management, and construction drawings, she can assure you that you are in capable hands throughout every phase of your project, from start to finish.

Kylie believes that exceptional design strikes a balance between function and feeling, transforming spaces into personal environments that are both livable and visually compelling. Kylie crafts interiors that blend rich textures, bold colors, and layered elements to create moody yet inviting atmospheres. Drawing inspiration from styles such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, and Bohemian Eclecticism, her approach mixes dramatic hues, tactile materials, and vintage accents to ensure every space feels curated and lived-in.
From Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Kylie’s passion for design was shaped by nearby Philadelphia’s historic architecture. Now based in Southern California, she is graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from San Diego State University. Whether incorporating antique pieces for a sense of nostalgia or layering contemporary furnishings for a fresh perspective, Kylie’s work reflects a deep understanding of how interiors shape experience—turning houses into homes.
